Harlock and I are moving into a bungalow in Sarasota. It'll be our first place with just us. This blog is going to document the wacky adventures that are sure to follow.

An Update?!
I think I neglect this too much and when the time comes and I want to look back on the first year in the new place I'll regret it.
I spent a few hours raking up leaves from the front yard today. It felt nice to be outside and get dirty.

Christmas Tree!
Our first Christmas tree, though not our first Christmas together. It was such a great Christmas! Well, hell all of 2010 was great. I'm a lucky girl.

It's Been a Long Time
We are officially in the bungalow and have been for a few days. Most of the boxes are unpacked and we are waiting for a couch to be delivered, today in fact!!! But here's an overview of the past week.
It's always surprising to see how much junk you have when you put it all into boxes.
I mean, we have a whole bunch of stuff. It's mostly books though. Seriously! Over half of these boxes are full of books! I loveses it!!
See the books!
Dear Harlock is setting up the "A-Shelf" of books. It's all classics that we both love.
The bungalow is coming together nicely! All we gotta do is set up the Florida room and get some odds and ends.

The Adventure Begins
I adore the place, it's cute, old, quaint and full of charm.
A bad picture of the living room. Every room has a ceiling fan with either hardwood or tiled floors. It might get cold during the winter but I'm really not concerned about it. Each window is framed in that dark, warm wood and check out the rafters on the ceiling!
Being a bungalow it has two bedrooms one downstairs and one upstairs which is actually the attic. This is the bedroom downstairs...ignore the orange carpet. We plan on using this as a work/art room. It's small but should be alright for what we want it for.
The kitchen as seen from the Florida room...oooooh yes I got a Florida room. I guess every room in Florida is a 'Florida' room....
This was taken from the Florida room to show off my immediate need for bad ass barstools.
The bathroom is right next to the mirror and there is a doorway that leads to the laundry room.
The laundry room with a view of a closet. This place has closets, cupboards, nooks, crannies, shelves, everywhere!!
The view from the laundry room into the kitchen. You can see where the stairs are in the upper right hand corner. The stairs are a bit tricky.
Super duper narrow with itty bitty small steps the stair case leads up to the attic where the bedroom is going to be.
Looking down the stairs from the attic. It's going to be a dangerous trip under certain conditions.
A bad picture of the attic. The bed is going to be behind where I shot this but you can see that this is clearly an attic. I've always wanted an attic bedroom.
From the laundry room and through this door is the Florida room.
Ground view of the Florida room. I'm going to need a Swifer thingy...the floors are going to be constantly dusty and dirty if I don't get one.
Harlock turning on a ceiling fan. In the foreground is the kitchen bar. The Florida room has two, yes two doors to the backyard. Oh, did I mention I have a backyard?
Because I totally have a backyard. We even get to use that shed garage thing!
The other back door.
That back door is to the left of this shot. I love this area!
A shot of the front yard.
